AFT - Aschberg spring telescope meeting from 20. until 22. April 2012
Unfortunately the AFT 2012 has been canceled due
to building operations at the Aschberg.
Surroundings
The Aschberg, situated at the
Hüttener Bergen near Eckernförde, is made for such a meeting. Due to his
altitude there is hardly no fog and at clear nights you might reach 6.3 up
to 6.4 mag. We observe there regularly in big groups.
Accomodation
There is a youth hostel located on the
hill which we have rent completely for the meeting. So even in bad weather
there will be plenty of rainless room. The meeting is taking place at any
rate, doesn´t matter how the weather will be. Who likes might get a bed
in the youth hostel - while stocks last. You can take along bed linen or
hire them for 4,00 Euro. It is not allowed to bring sleeping backs along
because they might damage the anti allergy mattresses. Who prefers a room
to rent will find a list enclosed of the inns surround the Aschberg here.
Programme
There belongs a sports ground to the youth hostel which is not used
anymore and which we can use for observing and camping. The youth hostel
is located right at the observing place, there are no long walks. In the
lounge of the youth hostel and further in a big tent there will be given numerous
talks. Further Michael Hammer-Kruse will be there with his mobile
planetarium.
Contributions
In 2011 a bed in the youth hostel costs 8,- Euro per day. Participants with
tents, caravan or camper pay 6,- Euro and who puts themselves up pays 4,-
Euro per day.
